What is Concurra?
Good question!
First let me introduce myself. My name is Dan Ushman and I am the founder of Concurra, and I’m super excited to show you what we’ve built over the last 2.5 years. When we wrote our first line of code in March of 2014, we had big dreams, but had no idea if we could pull this off. Concurra is a truly amazing, one-of-a-kind website optimization platform.
It’s like a DVR for your website visitors on-page behavior.
It sits in the background and monitors everything that everyone does on your website.
I mean that literally.
Big data web design?
Concurra watches everything so that it can analyze it. Here’s how the website usage data is put to use:
- Visualize aggregate interactions. Concurra allows you to see where your visitors are clicking by cohort. You can segment by any vector you want and it will redraw the interaction maps. There are four types of interaction maps available.
- Explore individual sessions. Concurra will allow you to explore any session you want. Just browse to it, or find it by searching, and click on explorer. You will see what your visitor did in detail.
- Identify areas for A/B testing. Concurra automatically analyzes your traffic and suggests areas to focus on. By combing these suggestions with interaction mapping and session explorer, you can more easily identify areas to conduct A/B tests.
- Baseline performance for A/B testing. By automatically recording all website behavior, it is easy to create baselines for goals and use those goals to optimize A/B tests in the future.
But wait! There’s more!
Concurra also actually does A/B testing - natively and elegantly.
- Pick any page, anytime. Just select the page you want to perform a test on and click Create Experiment.
- Create as many variations as needed. Click Add Variation and then use the visual editor and change anything (right click) you want. You can edit HTML, resize, reposition, insert custom HTML or CSS, change colors, fonts, sizes, even alter the z-index position of objects. Changes will be highlighted in green.
- Use Grid View. I highly recommend Grid View because it makes it easier to get things aligned if you are adding text or moving elements around.
- Decide what % of your visitors will see each variation. Or, set one of them to 0% and use the custom link to send traffic to it instead.
- Make sure your goals are setup first. Setup your goals before creating an experiment so you can see how it does. You can also add goals inside an experiment, but we recommend setting them up site-wide right when you first log in.
- Pick a winner! Concurra will calculate a winner at some point based on the amount of traffic and how each variation is performing. It might be the control, it might be a variation. Only one way to find out!
